The namesake partnership will support the morale of the ship's crew and their families as they return to sea, which will add a new dimension to the cultural life of our city, and introduce our students and citizens to important particulars of supporting the crew of our namesake vessel and their role in protecting our nation.

We hope that this will provide insight into US naval history and show the rewards of their service through the generations.
